For those who do not live in the desert southwest of Arizona, you might wonder to see and witness the sheer number of Spanish speaking people relocating to the U.S. from Mexico.

Then again, maybe you would not be surprising is the media coverage is consistent and based on “illegal immigration”. The likelihood is that you periodically hear people talk you live in Spanish. Spanish is quickly becoming the second most popular language spoken within the country.

Interestingly enough, Spanish is the fourth most commonly spoken language on the planet, after Mandarin Chinese, English, and Hindustani. For several years Spain was becoming more important in Europe, where it is often the foreign language of choice after English.

A great debate and much confusion is happening in the USA on the topic “illegal immigration”, and it is affecting our country and economy. One of the ways in which we can find common ground or olive branch of peace is available to us “gringos” took a step towards becoming multilingual learning Spanish.

Whether you are for or against “amnesty” or “guest worker program” is really an independent and separate issue. Americans need to adapt and evolve in the changing world of ours. This can be achieved through our own horizons and be open to people and cultures who consider us to be foreign.

Number of families in this country is multilingual or speak Spanish as a second language is increasing. The number of tourists are flocking from the United States to Mexico reaching percentages as well as epic.

It seems the major obstacle preventing one mind and cultural meeting between the Americans and our neighbors to the south that the difference in languages spoken. This is changing rapidly, and statistics show that Americans are studying and learning to speak Spanish, the record numbers.

Some of the reasons why we should accept that we Americans “Latin” basis and learn to speak Spanish.

21st century America is multicultural and multilingual

We as Americans can go backwards, we can only progress forward; that one direction. America was founded to be a melting pot of sorts; country in which people from different backgrounds, with different ethnic or racial characteristics, and people from different cultural heritages come together to live in peace and maintaining harmony.

SPEAKS A large percentage of Spanish labor countries, and is the probability that they will not go anywhere anytime soon. Speaking Spanish in America, or interact with people who are bilingual or multilingual is here to stay.

Give your child an advantage for education or teaching as well as learning to speak Spanish as a second language. Teach them that racial prejudice intolerance, and no place in 21st century worldview.

Better understanding of English or other languages

Much of English’s vocabulary, up to 80% of our words have their roots in Latin, Spanish, as English is also the Latin or “Romance” language. When you learn to speak Spanish, you will find that you have a better understanding of your vocabulary in English. Spanish and English roots of some good Indo-European, you get their grammars have similar.

Once you learn yourself and your children to speak Spanish as a second language, have a head start in learning any other language based on Latin that might interest you. It also will help you learn Russian or German, since they are too Indo-European roots and have some characteristics that are present in Spanish but not English.

Talking with the locals when you travel

Yes, it is perfectly possible to visit the desert southwest of the United States, Mexico, Spain or even Equatorial Guinea without being able to speak a word of Spanish.

You’ll find it much more fun to be able to think like a local and even I know a little of the language the people can you talk to visiting travel more enjoyable.

When I travel, I like being able to immerse myself in the culture I’m visiting. It makes travel much easier when one can see more clearly through the eyes of the local community. What happens when you can not read and sign you need to ask for directions, or if you want someone to ask question.

Tour guides can be useful while traveling, but it is much more fun to be able to get off the beaten path and venture into areas where crowds of tourists rarely venture.

For a while, a few years ago; I did some photoshop work with a man who had traveled with his wife across northern Mexico; introduced in areas where the majority of tourists will see. There were thousands of photographic slides that needed to be scanned into the computer for a little color correction, cropping and editing.

Would he and his wife travel down to Mexico, get to know the locals and travel off the beaten path. This opened up doorways for him to places that most tourists have gone, along with the reasonable prices of a given kind of person-to-find handcrafted artwork, necklaces, pottery and sculptures.

It also enables to find lodging for families to close to nothing by our standards and cook food in homes of local people in the same way, it was a few hundred years. There are people who live in Mexico are still without many of the toilets we think of today’s most modern.

One thing I learned from him, while traveling off the beaten path in Mexico, if you’re going to take a photo by locals; you must offer to compensate them for a few dollars.

Mexico is culturally very rich when it comes to Christianity or Catholicism, and I enjoy seeing truly all of his photos of churches, missions and old mountain villages.

Had he and his wife do not know how to speak Spanish fluently, neither the length of a segment of life experience has been place.

Nobody else who speaks the language fluently and are starting in the first out.

Learn to speak Spanish is easy and can make quickly

Schools require the most high students take at least two semesters of foreign language. But why wait for children to get to high school to start and expand their cultural perspective of bilingual education.

In the future, perhaps that our schools here in the U.S., multilingual education begin at a younger age. It would be a good idea.

A majority of people who speak Mandarin Chinese or English speaking Japanese as well.

A majority of people who speak Spanish also speak English “un poco” or

“un poquito” meaning “small”.

Americans have been ‘dumbed down’ for long enough. Do yourself, your children, and future of this country a favor and learn how to speak Spanish.

It is just as much our responsibility as Americans to serve others as he has other people coming to this country and have blended in acculturalized to our society and way life.

That is one / yang of the “illegal immigration” situation as I see it personally.

I can predict the future time when it is necessary but Americans do not understand English and Spanish, but maybe even Arabic and Mandarin Chinese.

A final thought for you to muse over:

There are no boundaries between nations or territories landmass on this planet when seen from space.

Not only common ground between all of us need to admit that going down, that is the Earth beneath our feet. It does not belong to any of us, if we have anything related to it; and our planet owe debt gratitude.

A Terrorism, Illegal Immigration, Drugs and three separate issues; they need to be dealt with as such also jointly; under the heading called “cross-border security.”

Whichever side of the issues you are, remember, have real people and real lives at stake here – on all sides from any issue.

Do yourself, your children, and worldview in favor and look into learning Spanish as a second language.
